I started teaching in 1988 as a college student. I played in the US Army Band. Upon graduation, I taught band and orchestra in Wichita KS public schools. I have been on the faculty of Friends University in Wichita, KS and Bethel College in Newton, KS. I taught private piano and bass students at Jim Starkey Music Center in Wichita, also. Many of my bass students have been in the Wichita Youth Symphony. I teach so called "classical" reading, and improvisation, once basics are under control.
