My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I was on the journalism team all four years of high school, serving as managaing editor, and sports editor, and was the only writer ot be granted free-lance editorial writing. Learning can be hard. Memorization can be hard. Knowing how to determine the proper equation to use in a chemistry or math equation can be hard. What I focus on with my students is not simply telling them the information and how they should go about finding the right answer but, more importantly, why the answer they are choosing is correct. What that does is to force them to learn the actual skill and when to use a given equation or what a sign or symbol indicates in terms of the type of problem they are trying to solve. By doing this, I find, the student is able to get to the core of not simply stuffing equations, grammar terms, or scientific terminology in their heads and then unloading them on the test. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : Provide assistance with deciding on a topic, how to outline levels of suspens and how to organize characters and identify types and how each plays a role in creating intrigue, and then pull the characters together for quality climax.

I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. In all these fields I find similar necessary skills: patience, co-operation among staff and colleagues, knowledge of subject matter, communication with the community and parents and a well defined curriculum.
