My comments on tutoring Government : Running for office? Working with Government contracts? How does government work and how do the business, military and government interact? How do governments interact with one another? All important questions to be considered in the study of one government or many.

I like to involve all the senses: hearing new material; experiencing the reality of an abstract concept and finally teaching or responding it back to show that the lesson has been absorbed at several levels. I like to have fun with teaching so the student will learn to love learning for his or her self.
I have worked for Defense Contractors in the fields of Chemical and Biological Defense; and with experimental aircraft development across both military and civilian sectors. I have campained for candidates for local office and I have written for publication. Born and raised in West Africa I bring a love of other cultures and a true "world or global" view to history, politics and government.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a retired FBI Agent, with both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctorate. As an Agent, I learned to speak fluent Russian and speak it to this day. Since retirement six years ago I have been tutoring and coaching my son, who is handicapped. He is highly intelligent but learns a little bit differently, so I have worked hard with him to teach him to read, learn math and grammar. He cannot write, so everything he learns is by memory. He is an excellent student and works hard. My work in the FBI has given me excellent writing skills, my grammar is next to perfect, and I read several books a week. I tutored many students in the FBI Academy and in Russian school, so I have experience in tutoring adults as well as children.

A Little Bit About Me...

After finishing my Masters Degree in Education I taught one year in a private school then opened my own business tutoring primarily homeschool students during the school year. The students I have worked with are primarily ages 11-18, but my experience with my own children includes the primary grades. I have tutored most subjects including reading, writing, science, history and math (through algebra).
I believe that children are born smart. Some of them have special learning challenges and some have been taught to believe that they are not smart. By treating children as though they are intelligent and providing encouragement and learning opportunities, I have seen children grow and progress in almost astonishing ways. The sparkle in a child's eyes when they finally "get it" is the best paycheck.

As a Weber State graduate, I majored in Zoology and minored in Chemistry. Even though science has always been a passion of mine, I am very knowledgeable in math. During my undergraduate studies, I have gained even more experience and improved on my grammatical skills. I had the opportunity to be an Anatomy lab instructor for three semesters. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to tutor my wife with her math. At first, this was a challenge. Math is a subject where one cannot only rely on memory. I found that it's best to be very patient and teach the processes of mathematic principles, rather than just assume the person whom you're tutoring knows these processes.
