A Little Bit About Me...

Been an administrative aid for 3 years and have two degrees but just relocated here in the US. I am willing to tutor but I need materials and if provided, will see to it that I deliver. I have taken multiple major exams, state exams, entrance exams, licensing exams. The single most important thing about being a teacher or mentor is to be respectful, socially aware, and sensitive. Okay, that's three things, but they kind of go together. The second most important thing about being a mentor is to create understanding about the underlying principle of whatever it is he or she is learning about. Once you understand the underlying principle, the "how to" stuff becomes a *lot* easier to understand and remember. On the other hand, a person who's trying to learn the "how to" stuff without understanding the underlying principles is likely to forget key things, to be tripped up when an unexpected question arises, and to get into other trouble.
