My comments on tutoring Computer : I have worked with computers since they first came out. I have worked with mainframes. DOS and Windows and IBMS and Dells and Desktops and Laptops I have taught computer science in colleges.

I have taught at the elementary, high school and college levels for over 35 years. I taught business, Spanish and math and marketing and many other subjects. I hold a BA in Spanish and an MBA in International Business and 9 credits towards my MFA in Creative Writing and 15 credits towards my Doctorate in Business Administration., I enjoy teaching new students and the same students over time. I enjoy tutoring too, I have had my own tutoring business for over 40 years. I enjoy meeting new students. I would like to increase my level of tutoring on this site. A Little Bit About Me...

I focus on starting small and helping the student develop on their own. For example, when I teach how to write a strong essay, we write many drafts of an introduction. Then, we write many drafts of body paragraphs. Last, we would focus on writing a conclusion. Then, by working seperately on all of an essay's parts, the combined product is much stronger. The art of teaching is similiar to building a house: you start with an idea, then a foundation, and finally the framework.
I volunteered at the Ocean County Library writing center for four years and helped my peers construct, organize, and layout essays. I also proofread, edited, and helped in the creative process of their essays. I am curreently working part-time at Ocean County Library (Lakewood Branch) tutoring k-12 students after school in the S.M.A.R.T kids program.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have lived in South Jersey all of my life. I received my degree in Accounting from Stockton and have spent most of my career in finance working my way up to Controller for several businesses. When I was laid off, I had always wanted to try teaching and I loved it. I love working with kids (I also coach baseball and football), I really get a kick out of passing my knowledge onto them and seeing their face when it sinks in.
Math to me is like a puzzle... if you can imagine the pieces in your mind, fitting them together in practice is so much easier. I am extremely patient and easy going, even in coaching, most kids gravitated to me because I could speak to them on their level. You have to explain it in a way that kids can understand.
