Improving the lives of children has always been a passion of mine. While my academic background has had a focus, primarily, in the social work realm, my overall philosophy for working with youth emphasizes patience and education. I have sought opportunities working with both young children and adolescents. My interest began when I tutored elementary age children during my high school career. A Little Bit About Me...

I prefer working as a collaborative team with teaching staff/specialists. I believe most of my success comes from continued conversations and ongoing discussions about best practices during staff meetings and professional development workshops. I believe if we can integrate content with cross-curricular themes and skills such as writing across the curriculum in all subjects, not just during the language arts block, All students can access prior knowledge and reframe their thinking when appropriate. Once we establish accountability through state standards, we need to teach one child at a time, at their own level and pace and eliminate lessons that do not move students toward meeting the standards. A Little Bit About Me...

As passionate of a student as I am, I equally enjoy being an active part in another’s understanding and learning towards a new and challenging subject. I love working with high school and junior high students. I understand that the struggle and challenge of learning new material can be so enormously overwhelming and difficult for some it can be deemed impossible. I primarily focus myself on patience, empathy, and comfort.
