Successful test prep retired English teacher

I recently retired from the HOPE School of Hamilton City Schools. The HOPE School is a credit recovery school that helps students get caught up for graduation. Students who are too far behind to complete graduation in a timely manner are given GED tutoring. I was in charge of this tutoring and tutoring for state standards tests. We had a 100% success rate in these areas.

I attended Thomas More College on an academic scholarship and graduated with honors in the spring of 2011 with a BA in Environmental Science. Presently, I am pursuing a Master of Biology degree at the University of Cincinnati, where I hold a University Graduate Scholarship as well as a Yates Scholarship. I worked as a private tutor from 2006 through 2011, and in 2008 and 2009 I also tutored through Thomas More College. Having obtained a Communications degree from college, I was quite driven to help students who faced challenges in the areas of reading/writing. Further, I had extensive experience in Title I and Reading Labs, even on the college campus where I studied. Later, I earned my Master's degree and did research to assist me in understanding the pervasive issue of a higher incidence of language difficulties faced by these students versus that realized in Math.
