A Little Bit About Me...

I will be a graduate of Northeastern State University as of May 17th, 2010 holding a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I will be taking my certification test during the weekend of April 17th. This spring I complete my full internship in Owasso Ok, where I taught 5th grade. I have been able to experience children in teaching dance for man years. As well as having my own to children. One of which is a struggling reader, which prompted me to go back and get an education to learn how to help her better.
My strengths are with all children, they are my passion. I love inspiring and motivating students to learn. My passion is working with children of all ages. I believe all children can learn and it depends on how you approach their learning. If a child is not learning, I need to re-evaluate how I go about teaching. I am very patient and have an outgoing personality. I believe that you must teach to the whole child before true learning can happen.
I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school. One year I was recruiting for scholarships at the college level. I have always opened my door to students without expectations of payment for several years. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information.
