I am a credentialed elementary teacher, but have experience tutoring K-12, both in person and virtually. I began tutoring virtually starting in mid 2019 and refined my skills during the pandemic when everything became virtual. I like to explain and show the student how to complete a problem. I do this 2 more time with different questions and then proceed to see if the student understands how to complete it on his/her own. I am open to most styles of teaching if a preferred style is requested.

Exciting and effective tutoring available!

I have always had the ability to effectively teach my family, peers, and other classmates. However, I recently decided to get into the field of tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

Learning goes much deeper than memorizing then eventually forgetting. Learning comes from conceptual understanding of material, building one concept on top of another. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn anything, given they have the basic fundamentals. I prefer to teach using a Socratic method approach, (a means of learning in which the student figures out concepts on their own, with the simple aid of questions). If I do notice a student does not understand a concept in the way I am describing, I try to provide a different means to convey the message.
