Attaining two degrees has opened my eyes to many different teaching styles and ways of learning. I believe that the most effective way to learn and teach is to explain concepts and theories thoroughly before any application of these concepts. I believe that in order to really learn a subject, and not just memorize it, the theory must be understood. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree.
