I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.

I tend towards a style of teaching that is animated yet personable; I firmly believe that quality instruction should be interesting and invigorating while providing a student with comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum. Jokes are not out of place, but the primary focus is on the subject matter, of course. A Little Bit About Me...

Since elementary school, I have known the value of a good education and I have always had a strong drive and love for learning. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a master's degree in Applied Exercise Physiology, which has allowed me to attain knowledge in diverse areas of science. Also, I have acquired extensive composition skills due to scientific research/laboratory reports, as well as essay assignments in my other areas of study. A Little Bit About Me...

I started substitute teaching when I was in undergraduate school just as a source of income and because I like teaching. My mother is a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years. I work as an engineer but I always find time to tutor. I have tutored with an SES program and have found that this worked really well. Focusing on how the children learn as a method to approach how they should be tutored is very effective and the children learn.
I have substitute taught for over 16 years and this past year I worked with the SES program tutoring. My areas of focus are sciences and maths but I have had to tutor reading. This year I tutored middle school students but I have tutored elementary as well. I tend to focus on the high level maths and sciences often taking long term positions in high school.
