I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. I started substitute teaching when I was in undergraduate school just as a source of income and because I like teaching. My mother is a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years. I work as an engineer but I always find time to tutor. I have tutored with an SES program and have found that this worked really well. Focusing on how the children learn as a method to approach how they should be tutored is very effective and the children learn.
I have substitute taught for over 16 years and this past year I worked with the SES program tutoring. My areas of focus are sciences and maths but I have had to tutor reading. This year I tutored middle school students but I have tutored elementary as well. I tend to focus on the high level maths and sciences often taking long term positions in high school.

A Little Bit About Me...

Education has always been very important to me. I believe that everyone is capable of making good grades, some just need a little extra help. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Exercise Science with Scientific Emphasis and BS in Medical Technology. I have tutored math in high school and would like to get back into it now that I am out of college.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a BS in Physical Education. My major was Athletic Training, which has prepared me to gain extensive knowledge in Biology and Anatomy & Phys. I also have prior tutoring experience helping with students at my church and family members who were younger than me. I have helped tutor students with all major subjects.
