During my Doctoral candidate years, I worked as both a engineering lecturer and laboratory instructor for 3 different engineering fields. The fields were circuit design, applied mathematics and practical laboratory equipment usage. I also gave lectures in Applied Optics (physics) for Seniors at Clarkson University during my last Doctoral year (1984-85) at campus. Informal for large groups as I wanted the students to see me as like them, but with enough capability to inspire them to listen. I learned early on you cannot make anybody learn anything. You must inspire them to want to learn. At the 1-on-1 setting (tutoring level), I work at a very detailed level with the particular student I have with me at the time. Each one is sufficiently different to warrant different teaching approaches to maximum effect and retention.

I am capable of teaching math, physics, or engineering courses. My teaching style involves focusing on real world applications and judging answers for realism. I also try to imbue the students with an understanding of the material beyond simple memorization. I have been actively involved with college tutoring for 4 years and during that time I rose to Senior tutor. I assisted students with mathematics, from pre algebra to Calc III, physics, and engineering courses. This was primarily one on one tutoring but I have also been involved in some classroom based programs. I have recently graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology's Electromechanical Engineering program. It is a unique degree with a heavy focus on design and includes systems engineering courses. The program must pass both mechanical and electrical engineering accreditation.
