In high school, I began teaching at an early age. I took a Teaching Cadet course in high school, in which I tutored and encouraged children in reading, math, and science skills. I also taught tennis every summer to children of all ages throughout my high school years. My first two years in college, I was involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters, in which I had a little brother that I tutored and mentored until he began middle school. Every student has a unique combination of learning styles, but he or she also has a predominant one such as visual learner, kinesthetic learner, etc. I try to figure out which style or styles the student responds to and use those styles to get through to the student.
