I recently moved to Arizona and received my substitute teaching certificate. I am a new college Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Leadership and Development. My degree helped me understand how individuals learn and process information. It also helped me understand and respect people of different cultures, religions and races. I learned many different teaching mechanisms and strategies to educate individuals. While in high school I was very involved in 4-H and other extracurricular activities. A Little Bit About Me...

Learners need to obtain information from a variety of stimuli to fully understand a concept. What is successful for one student may not work for an other. Therefore, I try to present each topic in several different ways. For example, on a recent unit in mass-mass stoichiometry, students were able to witness a demonstration, complete a laboratory experience, have discussions on the subject, and then practice. By breaking the information down to the simplest form and giving students a variety of avenues to understand, the students were able to succeed.

I will then explain to them and make it as clear as possible so they can understand better the subject they are having trouble with. Once done with my explanation, I will have them work out problems to show me they really understand the subject. It is very important to be patient with every student because some are fast learners and some are slow learners. A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience working as an instructional aide at Kofa High School from 10/03-5/05. Motivated children that had mental and behavioral problems. Tutored teenagers with school work and helped out teachers to grade homework. (Ages 15-18)
I enjoy teaching children especially teenagers.
