A Little Bit About Me...

I have a natural affinity for teaching. Although I have "formally" taught for the last 3 years; I have volunteered in various capacities teaching young and mature alike. I find innovative ways for my students to learn and my passion and enthuiasm for learning is contagious. I have taught/tutored in computer applications (MS-Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), accounting principles (I and II), payroll accounting, business ethics and business management.

I graduated from Union College in June of 2008 with a BS in Biology. Due to hard work and dedication, I received my BS in three years instead of four. I have been substitute teaching for almost a year for many different grade levels. As of recently, I have been tutoring students in mathematics.
I am a very patient person that believes in sticking with something until the student fully understands it. It may take a variety of techniques, rephrasing or working through examples, but I believe if you are dedicated there is nothing you cannot learn as a student.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent MBA graduate, I would like to apply some of the things learned during my studies into helping others in their area of weakness. I understand that some students struggle in certain areas and I feel that I could be a great mentor. I tutored students in the past with the Big Brother Big Sister program. My area of expertise of editing and proofing essays and research papers. I'm also very proficient in Math.
I am not a teacher however, I do have 3 children ages 10, 11 and 12. They are very smart and all have been on the Principals list for the past 3 years. I'm patient, kind and understanding that children often times get frustrated. I take education very seriously and I want everyone to succeed.
