I have always loved working with kids and feeling like I am making a difference in someone’s life. I am fun loving and a big kid at heart, but I know how to balance that with hard work and dedication. I feel that art can be a form of rehabilitation in many ways, such as helping a child grieve the loss of a loved one or even as a form of physical rehabilitation as well. I believe art can transform someone’s world into something positive and rewarding and I hope that I can bring this to every child I work with.

I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work. I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I strive to be a good role model to them all, even when I may be frustrated but I find constructive ways of venting such as listening to music during class quiet times and taking walks with my students during activity breaks and while they are in PE.
