As a college graduate with both a bachelor's and master's degree, I have always been seeking excellence in learning. My teaching style would be that of Guided Discovery. This is a highly interactive style which leads the student to uncover the answer themselves as opposed to the teacher simply reciting the answer to them. Guided Discovery requires the student to learn by doing therefore developing necessary problem solving and deductive skills that will make them better learners and thinkers both now and in the future. I implement this style by asking leading questions, giving examples, making analagies and asking the student what they think or ask them to explain how they came upon a certain conclusion. This ensures that the desired cognitive skills and strategies are being learned.

Children are not students. They are not tools, nor are they pieces of a larger machine. They are people, impressionable and as important as the rest of the world. So, then, why would we expect everyone to learn the same? To teach a child in any discipline requires, in some cases, finesse, and an ability to adapt to their needs.
