I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I have worked with students in all levels of elementary school through teaching as well as during my college year. As a veteran teacher of thirty years, I have much to offer in the educational setting. I taught language arts in 7th and 8th grade for 21 years and in 2nd and 3rd or 9 years. Through teaching language arts, I have many areas covered to help in tutoring of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editing papers.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I am an artist, I naturally try to teach in a way that honors intuitive ways of learning. I believe that students can often sense the correct way to do a math or writing problem and should be encouraged to trust their own intelligence. Everyone has his/her own way to get at a particular problem. I think the key to understanding many learning difficulties is respecting the child's own processes.
