A Little Bit About Me...

During my last four years I have been given several opportunities to interact and educate students of all ages. Working with the Upward Bound Program I tutored high school students in various subjects. As a varsity basketball player I was frequently in charge of teaching the sport's fundamental skills necessary to younger children. While this kind of education differs from one received in the classroom, I believe that the objective is similar in that students are being taught essential elements of a subject. My bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry give me adequate knowledge on the material and my grammatical skills have been shaped by the numerous research papers and reports I have written.

Through my education at UCLA, I developed a solid foundation in math and science, while completing my BS in Bioengineering. Additionally, I have well developed communication and grammar skills for an engineer due to several extracurricular activities, which required me to write time-sensitive documentation and reports. My tutoring experience comes from 2 years of volunteer work I did at Marina Del Rey Middle School.
My dominant teaching style is connecting with students on a personal level. During my time as a mentor at Marina Del Rey, I enjoyed developing a relationship with my mentee inside and outside of the classroom, and I truly believe this helped him excel.
