A Little Bit About Me...

I currently tutor a 9 year old and a 13 year old, both for reading and writing. I've taken early childhood education courses before, and worked hands on in a preschool, in which I put together lesson plans and taught to the class. I'm also the oldest of five, and grew up with a big family. My younger brother and sisters (ranging from 4-19 years old) are my absolute best friends, and one of the main reasons that I have such a love for children. I've worked as a lifeguard, so I am CPR knowledgeable (no longer "certified), and have even held various babysitting jobs in the past. Aside from all of the personal experience that I have had with child care and tutoring in the past, I can honestly say I hold a true passion for reading and writing. As a Business Education teacher in the classroom, I also have experience with home based instruction for special education and working with at-risk middle school students in an after school program. I have taught four years in middle school; this school term (2010-2011), I will be teaching part time high school computer education in the mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and will be available afternoons. Although Business Education is my certification, I have experience teaching Mathematics, ELA, Science, Reading, and Art in the home and after school.
