The last four years I have tutored at risk teenagers for a NY public school district. I also tutored privately. In NY I was a substitute teacher for K-12 which gave me experience in the different subject levels pursuant to each grade. Prior to NY, I was employed by Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida where I taught both 8th grade and 9th grade classes. I currently hold a temporary certificate with Florida and am finishing my Master's. My certificate is in General Science 5-9 but I have tutored other subject areas sucessfuly as well including GED prep and FCAT prep.

My Style from the beginning is to involve the parents and the student in the work ahead.I cover all the material in depth and offer counselling on study methods and give extra tables and information to be used during the instructions. As we progress I change the methodology (if necessary)to help the student feel more comfortable and confident in what he is learning.I am patient and a low key teacher. My only goal is the pursuit of knowledge for both the student and myself. If the teacher is not learning from his students then he is not growing and therefore will not be able to help this student or any others in the future.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a BS in theology because I felt it was interesting as much as it was challenging! A reason for this is because I've always helped youth in a para-ministry setting (volunteer/paid) and found a knowledge of Theology helped a great deal. I worked for a non-profit organization off and on for a total of close to 4 years. For approx 3 of those 4 years, I worked in a private school setting with Jr. high and Sr. high students. My role was to protect, inspire, and tutor students so to achieve an education sometimes earlier than anticipated (they sometimes would get their diploma early).
