I have just received my BA in E-Business management with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am beginning my Masters in Criminal Justice in March and will continue to a Dr. in the same field when possible. I do not have professional experience teaching however I have experience tutoring my niece who I have been responsible for since she was 5. She is now 12 and a straight A student. I tutored throughout school and was a teachers aid in Elementary school. I have 2 young boys of my own who will beginning school next year. I have tutored in writing, K-5 math, science and history. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from USF in 2000. I became certified to teach K-12 grades in 2003. I taught 5th grade for one year and then Kindergarten for two additional years. I also spent a few years substitute teaching at the high school level. I enjoyed the experience of working with the older students as well as the younger ones. I have experience with FCAT preparation on the elementary level. I have a young son with special needs so I understand the challenges faced by students on many levels. My degree is journalism based. A Little Bit About Me...

My senior year in high school I was a tutor for a second grade elementary class, assisting the teacher with reading exercises, as well as correcting various assignments. In college I took part in the Junior Achievement program, teaching economics curriculum to third graders during the spring quarter of my senior year. After college I volunteered at the Renton History Museum from March 2007 to February of 2009 and the Tampa Bay History Center from March of 2009 to May 2009.
My teaching style is to help students find the answers on their own. By asking a series of questions you can help students to find their own answers and express them in their own way. By doing this you not only teach them a subject, but you teach them the more important skill of knowing how to learn.
