I studied post secondary in high school and graduated in the top ten of my class. I was on the deans list every year of my college career. I was a teachers aid at the University of Minnesota for three years in the anatomy department. I was a the lead embalmer for the University and worked for the Anatomy bequest program. I was licensed in mortuary science in 2007 and have been working as a funeral director and Retail manager for the past three years.
I believe that the purpose of tutoring is to help students help themselves, or to assist or guide them to the point at which they become an independent learner. Graduating magna cum laude, I take education seriously where I feel that everyone has the potential to grow and succeed. I have a bachelors degree in social work and a minor in human relations where I was on the deans list/graduated with cumulative average g. p. a. of 3.6. I was chosen as a IV-E child welfare scholar through Saint Cloud State/University of Minnesota where I received additional focus/training in helping children in need. I have had education in the liberal arts/general education and I am familiar with a variety of subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district. This is a job I love for the simple fact that I have variety everyday. It is also a great way to stay up to date on all subject matter. I am also in the process of earning my Master's Degree in Education.
I have been very successful at adapting my teaching style to fit the age and subject that I am teaching. I am easily able to gain students respect and attention, which has also made me a very useful substitute.
