A Little Bit About Me...

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2008, and will receive my Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences in May of 2010. Throughout the course of my college education, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. As an undergraduate student, I worked as a private tutor with extensive tutoring experience in all levels of mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and ACT preparation. As a graduate student, I have been employed as a teaching assistant where I have been responsible for instructing university students in a variety of laboratory courses including Genetics, Plant Anatomy, Animal Behavior, and Zoology.

More About This Tutor...

Over the past 12 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors of the education community. I have taught grades 7-12 in all areas of science. I have also been the director of a learning center, where I started as a tutor. The years of experience have taught me a great deal about children of all ages and abilities. With each new year, I learn something new about myself and my style.
Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to help children in any context that I can. Although I have my sights set on being a pediatric neurologist, my vision encompasses more than this end. I have worked with children from ages 3 to 16 starting from the time that I was a sophomore in high school to the present. I have served a diverse array of roles, such as summer camp counselor, patient care associate at St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a mathematics teacher at an inner city school in St. Louis.
