A Little Bit About Me...

As a Business Consultant over the past 20 years I have taught computer and business applications to over 50 business employees. I have extensive experience in fund accounting and grant administration. While in college I tutored finite and basic math in a work study program. I have found that I have a unique ability to teach students who have learning disabilities. I have the ability to read how a student learns and change to their abilities. I was also a writing tutor at The Writing Center at Lyndon State. In addition, I tutored students there in English,Math,and Economics for a program called Project Excel. I also attended tutor training sessions as part of that job. Additionally, I tutored college students privately while earning my degree at The University of Rhode Island. I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information.
