Both of my parents were teachers and I find myself sharing my knowledge with anyone who seems to need it. I just recently taught an Elementary Statistics course as an adjunct at Mohawk Valley Community College. I possess a very strong mathematical and statistical background. I took a total of 6 specialized statistic courses at Oswego along with other upper level mathematics courses. I was involved in an independent study while at Oswego and interned in the actuarial department at Utica National Insurance Group. I have a bachelors degree, BS in Applied Mathematics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and statistics. My teaching style would be to help the student formulate the problem, enabling them to arrive at the final solution by themselves. If he/she had trouble with this, I would give hints allowing them to find the correct answer. I am also very good with tips at remembering things, especially in math, which I would tell the student so they could have a better grasp of how to set up and solve all different types of problems using a simple, basic format.

I worked a year in the Tutoring Department located at Mohawk Valley Community College. This was an open lab which meant 3-4 students would need help at any one particular time period. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from high school, I was unsure what exactly I wanted to do. I began working as a counselor/activities director for a summer recreational program in 2004 which allowed me to realize that working with kids is what I want to do.
