I am a recent graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania (May 2011). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. I also have a minor in photography. During my time at Mercyhurst College, I worked as a writing tutor in the school’s writing center. I have spent the last 12 years working in a variety of Accounting positions with a wide variety of softwares. This gives me a unique view of the accounting world and different ways to use accounting information while complying with state and federal laws.
I believe in trying to help kids learn the big picture. Kids are highly intelligent and are capable of handling large amounts of information. This does not mean that we teach the same amount of accounting information to 5th grades as we do 11th grades. Just that we can give them a general outline for the 5th grades and a more detailed version for the 11th grades. My teaching style is based on the student. One teaching style does not fit everyone. I have to see how the student learns and then adapt my teaching style to meet his or her needs. I love helping people, and especially when they get it. That is so rewarding.
