I believe that every student learns differently. I enjoy working one-on-one with students to give them an explanation that is meaningful to them. I also try to present new material in a way that is tailored to the learning style of the student. I continually check for understanding during lessons. Above all, I try to be positive! Learning can be fun, and I try to celebrate every accomplishment. I also have a great sense of humor, and try to engage students with gentle encouragement and positivity.
I am a certified teacher in the area of middle school social studies. I am now also qualified for high school certification. I have been working as a long-term substitute in Burlington area schools in social studies for the last 5 years. I have also been working as a paraeducator in special education.
