Dr. Segal taught us that traditional teaching methods are outmoded. Therefore I came to my own conclusion that as a teacher I would allow my students to confront me on their terms and make the learning experience as relaxed as possible. Students won't learn anything if A) the environment is unsuited to them and B) if you jump down their throat over every little thing. The important question to ask them is "why?" or "what do you think?" In regards to myself teaching is an avenue that I am considering and thus a bit of real tutoring would give me a taste of how I should go about teaching in the future.

I feel if that you really want to learn a subject, that you should try teaching it. I am very friendly and laid back. My teaching style would be to find the student's primary learning style and converting the information he or she needs into a format that fits that learning style. Each subject would be made as visible or concrete as possible, so that the student could interact with the material on more than just a visual/conceptual level. Showing the student how the material can relate to real-life situations and opportunities would be a vital part of the instruction.
