It was a natural choice for me to major in English when I started my college career. While working on my degree I already knew I wanted to teach, so I began tutoring. I obtained Secondary Teacher Certification in Social Sciences. I taught high school and middle school Spanish for two and half years at public schools, and completed my student teaching at an alternative school for juvenile criminals. I was an at home teacher for my school district when children were out for extended periods due to illness.
