I studied in a course which is specially meant to create teachers. This is a 4 years course after Matriculation & 3 years after 11th class. I joined the same after 11th & came out with flying colours. I joined as a teacher in a Govt.School in 1970 & was popular with my class.I taught Maths. Up to Matriculation.Then during my service I continued my studies & improved my qualifications detailed already in the form. I believe that education should present as much material to the student as possible, which includes using various textbooks, lecture, and inquiry. After that, it will be up to the student to assess and construct the information given in order to form his/her own opinion about the subject matter. True education and learning is ownership of the subject matter which comes through effort and discipline and a little bit of guidance.
Since April 2007, I have been a substitute teacher at both the Watkins Glen High School and Middle School. Frequent subjects include English, Psychology, and Physical Education. I belong to a writers group which meets at the local library every first and third monday. I belong to a chess club that meets at a coffee shop every Thursday. I also assistant coach varsity and college soccer during the spring and fall seasons.
