An excellent teacher and listener who enjoys sharing knowled

I am currently employed as a technical advisor for Charter Communications for video and Internet. I originally was a math major and a math and history honor student at the University of Houston in the early 70's. I left school to start a family bakery in Vermont followed by award winning bakeries in Northern California and Utah. After retiring from baking, I completed my education at Vermont Tech with a degree in Information Technology.
I enjoy passing on my skills and knowledge to others. I have trained many apprentices in baking as a professional and conducted many classes. Every day I am teaching customers how to use their television equipment and their computers correctly. I am very patient and enjoy the rewards of successfully passing on my knowledge to others. A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience in tutoring both chemistry and maths to college and high school students. I have the necessary skills and experience to educate you properly in both subjects. Most high school students I tutored in the past, were less interested in math, but after tutoring them, have become interested in the subject area and have also found math to be very easy. I can therefore help you. I am currently tutoring both college, and high school student in both math and chemistry. I hope to hear from any student who would be interested in having me as their tutor. I am also a Doctor of Pharmacy student at MCPHS University in Worcester MA. Thank you

With a little work, you will get there!

Being an undergraduate at WPI and haven taken several Advanced Placement classes in areas outside of math and science, I consider myself a very well rounded student. I was also strongly considered for a MASH program here at the University, or "Math and Science Help", as a Section Leader/Tutor. Going through a lower-middle class urban high school, I was known as that "smart kid" and would often led study groups outside of class to prepare for tests.
I have struggled with the areas I am not proficient in, so I understand what it is to be frustrated and confused. My teaching style is presenting various approaches to the same idea, in hopes that at least one will click, and better yet, each approach with solidify an idea or concept that much more.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored on a volunteer basis with the Holyoke Tutor/Mentor Program for more than a year. I have also tutored privately. My experience has been with adults, however, I would like to add experience working with secondary school students. I can help with SAT's, MCAS, and just provide support for a student who needs some extra help.
I like to get a sense of what the student already knows and try to build on that knowledge.

More About This Tutor...

My tutoring experience consists of friends over the years, however it has always been something I was very good at. I decided to make a career change after working at Fidelity Investments for five years now to something I have a passion for, teaching children. I passed the MTEL exams and am working towards my license. I'm very excited to begin this journey and would be extremely appreciative for an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience. I believe my MBA in Business, BA in Management, minor in Leadership as well as my HR Cert has provided me with the level of education needed to tutor. Every subject I can tutor: Economics, Finance, Math and English, I received honors in College for as well as completed MBA coursework in the subjects.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the best way for someone to learn something is through application and repetition. As both a tutor and youth lacrosse coach I have had success by teaching my students how to approach problems rather than simply giving them answers. I am extremely patient and am very willing to take alternative approaches in helping a student learn.
During my undergraduate career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I obtained a wealth of knowledge in the fields of math and science. I did this by striving for excellence in the classroom and participating in cutting edge research with professors in the Entomology and Organic Chemistry departments. My extensive knowledge of the subjects I’ve studied has allowed me to assist my friends in understanding complex and difficult problems. This past year I privately tutored classmates in both Statistics and Organic Chemistry.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of Worcester State College. I hold a degree in both Sociology and Mathematics. I have taught math for middle school students from various backgrounds. As a result of this, not only do I know my material I am also prepared to work well with any individual or scenario. I feel that math can not simply be taught by numbers or words. Sometimes you need to go the extra mile and be very creative to truly understand it.
Working with kids is something I truly enjoy. There is nothing that brings a joy to me more than a child that smiles after figuring out a solution. All children can succeed, they just need to be taught in a certain way. My objective is to remain patient with these students and to find the best way to teach them. I don't want these students to simply receive good grades and forget the material. I want them to truly grasp the concepts, embark the ideas and hop ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel that I excel in putting myself in the student's shoes. By trying to understand their thought process, I can best teach by making sure the student follows the logic of the subject. I have always believed that allowing the student to reach understandings through subtle guidance by the teacher is the best process. This method allows students to retain information better and feel more comfortable with the material.
I have always enjoyed both the humanities and sciences. At Virginia Tech, I majored in Philosophy and Minored in Statistics and Business. Since graduation, I have worked primarily in an engineering setting performing statistical analysis and other tasks typically performed by a test & validation engineer.
