A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. I also have additional coursework in mathematics including real analysis and statistics. I currently am attending western michigan university for a masters degree in statistics. I have experience tutoring chemistry to undergraduates. I also have a great deal of experience writing reports of a highly technical nature.
I get to know the student and assess individual understanding. Then I relate the material to the student in a way that is conducive to comprehension. Then I encourage working through problems and giving examples in a way that relates material to prior knowledge. "Perfect practice makes perfect."; I accomplish this by working through problems with the student. I believe every student can be successful, and I enjoy teaching and contributing to success.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love the one on one interaction a tutor has with the students. I believe all children have a unique style of learning and we need to help them find their own way of learning. For example some kids are visual learners, while others are hearing learners. My work as a tutor is to see which method is the best for them. I am very patience with my students. I have 15 years experience in the lab. My educational requirements to be a med tech means I have taken many science and biology classes. I have had oppotunities to subsitute teach at my childrens' school and really enjoyed the experience.
I enjoy working with children I get a real thrill when they get the concept/idea that I am instructing them in . I believe that given time and instruction a child that is willing to learn will learn. It's a matter of patience and time.
