A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I began tutoring while I was still in high school. I earned my BS in Elementary Education in 1980. I have tutored students of all ages in different subjects. Most of my tutoring experience has been in math and reading. I have tutored students for all sections of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. I have been a homebound and home-school teacher, as well as a classroom teacher.
I love to help children learn! It is so rewarding to see the reaction of a child who suddenly understands what he has been trying to learn. I try to help my students build confidence in themselves by helping them realize that they do have the ability to learn. I want every child to know he is loved and special.

As a graduate of the University of Louisville I feel I have developed a knowledge base to further my career. I earned a BA in a subject that I greatly enjoy to study, History. Within the arts I was able to focus on humanities and cultural interaction. Along with these classes I took many general courses to broaden my focus beyond my degree. A Little Bit About Me...

I was born to teach. From 10 years old I would teach my friends during summer vacations or whenever I could get them to play my favorite game, school, (Kids don't play school anymore). I enjoy helping students make the connections. I use a teaching approach that is hands on and generally seeks to find atudents learning style. I believe in interactive learning. Students learn best when they are in a safe environment, which I can provide.
