First we get to know each other. Often I can create examples to illustrate problems based on the student's interests and experience. If you had any trouble on a recent test or homework assignment, we can begin by reviewing any problems you might have had on those. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student at Immaculata University, I have learned what it means to be an effective teacher. I will be student-teaching 11th and 12th grade English at Renaissance Academy in the fall. I have also been hired as the head men's golf coach at Valley Forge Christian College and have worked with kids of all ages at my church for the past 3 years. I like to incorporate a sense of humor in my teaching - I believe when children can relax they are much more open to learning. I am also sensitive to children's different learning styles whether they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic, and tailor my approach accordingly. No two sessions are ever the same! Each student has unique needs and challenges and my job is to work "through the maze" and carry the message to the brain.
