I have three children ages 12, 17 and 20 and have had many years of real world tutoring with them. I've also tutored other students, which is far easier. These experiences have allowed me to discover many techniques to keep students engaged and prevent them from becoming frustrated. I'm sure I can work successfully with your son or daughter. I have a strong background in math and science (Ph.D. from MIT) and excellent English and organizational skills. I've tutored at inner-city schools and in one-on-one environments. I have also tutored numerous Russian-speaking adults, children, refugees, and asylees in English through a non-profit organization. This assistace helped them become self sufficient and learn English and American culture. I thoroughly enjoyed that tutoring, and have since become a teacher.
