I love working with students and researchers, and I have what I call an open door teaching philosophy. I believe that a successful teacher is patient and available to students. I also believe that questions are as important as answers, and that students learn best in environments in which they are encouraged to ask questions and make mistakes. Students learn through trial and error, and it is important to nurture that process. I have taught for 5 years. I have taught grades 6-8. I have taught Social Studies, English, and Literature. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I also have a Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. I have taught a wide range of students, from very diverse backgrounds. I have taught struggling readers, as well as honor’s classes. I have taught African Americans, Hispanics, Caucasians, and several other ethnic groups. I am able to be successful with girls and boys, preteens and teens.
