I have experience in tutoring both chemistry and maths to college and high school students. I have the necessary skills and experience to educate you properly in both subjects. Most high school students I tutored in the past, were less interested in math, but after tutoring them, have become interested in the subject area and have also found math to be very easy. I can therefore help you. I am currently tutoring both college, and high school student in both math and chemistry. I hope to hear from any student who would be interested in having me as their tutor. I am also a Doctor of Pharmacy student at MCPHS University in Worcester MA. Thank you

Organic Chemistry is one of my top subjects!

I hold three college degrees in Biology (B.S.), Chemistry (B.S.), and Industrial Engineering (M.S.). I also have practical experience working with organic chemicals and polymers because I was employed in the manufacturing sector for over 30 years. This combination of education and work experience benefits the students that I tutor by applying learned scientific principles to practical everyday use. I will be ready to answer the age old question students have when they ask "why do we need to learn this stuff when we will probably never use it?" I can also teach a student how to study and effectively make use of their study time. Making efficent use of time is almost as important as mastering the subjects themselves. I look forward to hearing from you so we can improve on your success.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching organic chemistry has been a passion of mine for many years. I’m a full time independent chemistry tutor, both worldwide via Skype and locally in Western Massachusetts. I have an M.S. in computational organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is unique in the way that first principles build on each other throughout the course. I am an expert at breaking chemistry down into fundamental concepts so that students I work with can spend less time memorizing, and more time understanding. Nobody can make organic chemistry “easy” or provide a magic bullet to get you an “A” but I can equip you with the tools to make it possible.

Organic Chemistry is one of my top subjects! HS and College level

Teaching is a vital to any academic career. My goal as a teacher is to effectively communicate the subject matter in an interesting way to the student in order to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. I would use number of methods such as in-class participation, demonstration-Supplemented Lectures, development of internet resources and research papers to clearly convey principles relevant to the chemistry classes I would teach. In addition, through the feed back from students and peers, I will continually strive to improve my teaching abilities. Adjustments in style and resources will constantly be made in order to achieve the objectives set forth earlier.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always tried my best to help my fellow students in classes, but my formal experience teaching began my junior year of undergraduate. I started tutoring for the chemistry department and I volunteered for a chemistry demonstration show that promotes an interest in chemistry. When I started graduate school I got more experience as a teaching assistant for various general chemistry courses. Beyond this I love chemistry, it has allowed me to earn my M.S., struggling to learn a wide range of material to the best of my ability.
When I teach I try to make the student feel more at ease with the subject. Yes this material is difficult but with persistence it not only do you succeed in academia but you end up discovering something amazing. While I am patient and encouraging, I do have little tolerance for excuses. If how I teach is not working, I will find another way looking bey ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics. Also, the quantity of lab reports I have written has given me an advantage in writing non-technical reports along with technical reports. I have worked as a college math privately and through other companies.
My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.

I have a BS in Chemistry, an MFS in Forensic Chemistry and a strong aptitude in math and computers. Early on in my career I spent 1 1/2 years as a substitute teacher in the areas of math and science, including several months as a long-term substitute in chemistry. My experience with tutoring, employee training and working with my own two children has shown me that there are many different learning styles and paces. It is exciting to find that key for each person and watch their growth and development through learning. Up front, I believe it is important to understand the goals of the student and their family and then focus on providing the support necessary to see them achieve and exceed those goals.
Following my graduation from the University of Connecticut I pursued a career in the insurance industry but have also spent time working as a youth group leader and worked as a part-time tutor for several years. While living in Connecticut I tutored homebound high school age children who were either out on medical leave or expelled for disciplinary purposes. Because of my education and career, I am knowledgeable in many math subjects, biology, physical science, grammar, reading, and botany.
Every child has his/her own learning style. I think it is important to first determine how each child best learns – either visual, auditory, or tactile. I can then tailor my instruction to the needs of each student. In general, I believe that people learn best by ‘doing’. I believe th ... read more
