Psychology Professor/Reading Specialist

Over 25 years of teaching experience (all grade levels ~ from preschool to university graduate level courses). I enjoy tutoring, as it allows me to work one-on-one with a student to best assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to help them reach their goals. My doctoral work in Educational Psychology has given me a unique advantage in incorporating learning theory with applied teaching techniques. I am currently a tutor and contract educator in the Richmond area. I have been an instructor at Rice University, and I have been a substitute teacher for the Toms River (NJ) school system. I have undergraduate degrees in history and journalism as well as graduate degrees in history. I have also worked in the public history field as a museum interpreter and educator.
