I believe that learning should be fun. As a teacher, I work to create fun and interesting learning experiences that span a variety of learning styles. Such activities facilitate the maximum amount of learning for all students. Then we work together to practice the newly acquired skills to enable transfer and application.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Colgate University. Later, I attended Penn State University where I studied elementary education and earned my teacher’s certification after taking classes, interning, and student teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

Upon graduating from Columbia International University in 1980, I took a position at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida as the department head for the math tutoring department for elementary students. I stayed in that position for three years until I started a family. When my children became school age, I took a position at Dekalb Christian Academy in Atlanta, Georgia heading up the tutoring department and worked with elementary and high school students in various subjects. Upon leaving that positon in 1992, I became certified with the National Institute for the Learning Disabled. This certificate qualified me as an Educational Therapist. A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently come to realize that I really enjoy working with students of all ages. However, my passion is still definitely for the elementary age students. While studying at Mercer, I had a professor tell me that she truly believed every child could be reached.
