I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company. I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.

I believe that science has a undeserved reputation for difficulty as a subject that is directly related to the inability of many teachers to "break it down". Science can seem to be like a foreign language to the uninitiated, but at its essence science is simply a way of thinking about the world and asking questions. Several themes appear again and again in concepts that on the surface may seem unrelated and it is recognizing these themes that is the key to success in building knowledge and confidence. I was introduced to teaching as a guitar teacher and loved the field of education ever since. My first school experience was teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies in Queens, N.Y.in 1979. Finally, I found my niche in high school teaching various subjects such as Physical Science, Biology, Social Studies and tutoring after school programs for the passing of the high school graduation tests.
