A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught English and Reading for over 30 years. I have currently employed as a GED Instructor for WWISCAA organization. I have taught middle school and secondary English and reading. I am also certified in curriculum and instruction and a virtual online facilitator. I graduated from college in 1979, but i have continued my education and have gotten 2 master's degrees. i am currently working on my PHD in curriculum and instruction. I have also done tutoring at my church and in my community and love helping people. I have tutored in language arts, reading, math, and social studies.

After I graduated high school I went to a community college just to get the feel of college. I decided to major in speech because I was interested in correct speech. Not only how words were pronounced but also what mechanisms that are used to produce correct speech. I went on to Delta State University to pursue my Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing, and might I add they had a spectacular program. I learned a lot more than what makes a person have a speech disorder.
I tutored at the local elementary school for two summers straigth and absolutely loved it. Children are a joy to work with becuase they are eager to learn. I feel that if you make it interesting for a child then their learning experience becomes something that they won't forget.
