Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”. I believe the best way to learn is through experience and discovery. As an example, I can describe the intelligence of an octopus. But until you actually see a video of one opening a jar for a treat, do you truly realize it as a thinking, planning being. My teaching style is to try make a confusing or intimidating subject matter such calculus or physics more understandable and approachable. I do this by breaking down the confusing topic into smaller and simpler sub-topics and showing how these sub-topics build into the final subject they are trying to comprehend.
