A Little Bit About Me...

I am patient but firm. In order to be a success in the business world, one must be able to write and speak the English language correctly. If the student knows English, everything else in general business can be taught. Thus, in a tutoring environment, I try to make learning fun and make a game out of speaking and writing proper English. I believe that every child can learn even those that are handicapped. My mother was a specialist in teaching trainable children and got them jobs after graduation. Being around children with IQ's around 60 gave me special insight and understanding.

A Little Bit About Me...

As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.

I earned my Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from a prestigious academic institution in London, England, UK. My early education was in Bangladesh from where I earned a master and bachelor degrees with honors in chemistry. In addition to specialization in chemistry, I had passed degree level courses in physics and mathematics. These were requirements for B.S. Honors degree and have enabled me to gain an understanding in basic math and sciences. During my long professional life as an industrial and academic researcher in chemistry, I have learned advanced writing skills through research proposal and report writing. These are parts of principal job responsibilities. And, I found new college graduates were severely lack of these skills.
