I graduated from Dayton Christian High School back in 2007. I am currently attending school at the University of Dayton seeking my bachelors degree for Sociology. I have worked as a music teacher for 10 years, and I spent one year working as a Title I paraprofessional. As a music teacher, my focus is on music literacy and appreciation. I strongly believe that every child has the right to a quality music education. As a Title I para, I worked with individual and small groups of K-6 students in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
A wonderful characteristic of music is that learning and experiencing music addresses all three main learning styles--visual, aural, and kinesthetic. As an academic professional,I taught and coached students of diverse cultures in rural and urban communities. I used various techniques to engage students in the learning process.
