I am a very patient teacher who treats students with respect. It is my goal to reach all learners and meet their needs from all ability levels and cultural backgrounds. I involve students in the learning process by giving them choices and input in project development, technology integration and enrichment/acceleration.
I have taught elementary school for 16 years. One year in the Lincoln Country School District and 15 years in the Rockwood School District. I have taught grades 1,2,3 and 5. I served as grade level chair in each grade level, on all subject area commitees, and as teacher's representative to the PTO. I have tutored students for the before and after school program.

My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a child fulfill his or her potential. I enjoy helping kids achieve their goals and not only learn, but grow as learners. I do not have a specific teaching style. Everyone is different, so one particular type of teaching style may not be as effective as another. In order to be effective, I think it is important to recognize the students strengths and weaknesses before embarking on a certain learning path.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.
