After graduating from Central Michigan University, I began my career in education as an early childhood teacher. Soon after, I completed and passed the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations and advanced my career as an elementary teacher. In this time, not only did I develop and implement daily lesson plans according to state and district standards, but also tutored student according to their abilities and educational levels. Growing up, I never thought that I would want to be a teacher. After taking a job as a Childcare Counselor with the YMCA, I realized the I was meant to teach and work with children. I have been working with the YMCA for close to three years. I graduated from Manatee Community College with my Associate’s degree in May of 2009. I am currently attending the University of South Florida in Sarasota to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
