I love working with children of all ages and abilities and helping them with academics. I don't believe I have a specific teaching style. I know that I have to be flexible and creative with each student. Everyone learns differently, and I feel it is my obligation to find what works for each child. I do belive in providing hands on and real life scenarios when teaching. I have been very successful in academics throughout my education. I was valedictorian of my high school, and I received the top honors in English, French, and Accounting. I also maintained a 4.0 average throughout my college education.

I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers. Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle.

I have been employed by the Cambria Heights School District for 14 years as a Title 1 educator. I currently am involved in curriculum math and reading. My job mainly deals with helping students achieve success by developing learning skills that fit the individual needs of specific students and adapting regular classroom instruction to fit those needs. Most lessons can be taught in various styles but teachers are often faced with a curriculum guideline that they must follow. Often they do not have time to reteach the lesson and students begin to fall behind. With encouragement, guidance, and a new approach, many students can not only "catch up" but also stay succesful in that class.

I love helping students achieve thier best efforts through art education. I like to encourage approaching art in a variety of media and styles. I believe art should be fun and challenge creativity. As an honors graduate, I am constantly looking for new opportunities in art education. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education as well as two minors one in Art Studio and Art History. I am currently teaching a ceramics course, and I am also a substitute teacher. My areas of focus for my Studio minor were fibers, metals, and painting.

As a recent graduate of a private liberal arts institution with a degree in Medieval and Early Modern Studies and a concentration in pre-medical courses, I have a diverse and extensive understanding in several areas of study, both in the humanities and the sciences. Having completed a senior thesis as well as various essays in all disciplines, I feel that I have a commanding grasp of the English language and superior writing skills, and the proper knowledge needed to tutor in several areas. I have always enjoyed tutoring children; in high school, I actively participated in a youth tutoring program, but I also feel very comfortable tutoring older students and adults.
