Make Learning Fun!!

I teach writing / grammar students based on their level of understanding vocabulary. Learning how to figure out the meaning of vocabulary words is key in successful writing. Word origin and grammar usuage is how a student builds their writing skills! Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. My comments on tutoring Reading : I am an expert reader and have read at a college level since 8th grade. I can help anyone learn to read.

I have tutored many people in English Composition I and II, from community colleges to major universities. I work with (and have experience with) students as early as 5th grade. I cover all subjects related to Language Arts, Creative Writing, Composition and Journalism. I do qualify for my teaching certificate in Oklahoma to teach Language Arts at any grade level. I love working with students who need the most help. I am patient, kind, and humorous (when possible). It does not matter if I have to explain the same things a million times over, so long as the student grasps the information. I received a B.A. degree from Central Oklahoma University in 1966. My major was English and my minor was Social Studies. I taught English in grades 9-11 for forty years. American Literature (Junior English) is what I taught the most but am qualified to assist students in understanding various literary genre as well as grammar lessons and writing assignments.
